Program Studies and Evaluations

At SWS we conduct high quality program studies and evaluations to provide factual information on which our customers can make evidence based decisions. We follow an action model with our evaluations, working with our customers to provide practical information that can be immediately applied during the evaluation process. This information is intended to assure the success of the program by allowing our customers to make changes in their program that will help them achieve what their logic model describes. Our studies can be designed to provide the evidence that a program or practice has the desired outcomes.

Data Management

SWS designed and developed the Grantee Evaluation Management System (GEMS®) to provide an online, real time information system that can be used to meet most data needs of children and youth serving organizations that receive grants. The GEMS® is very adaptable. It is now being used for the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant program, The Learn and Serve grant program, the OJJDP Mentoring grant program, the AmeriCorps grant program and the Black Achievers Determined to be Different (BADD) program. Consultation

SWS is prepared, willing and able to consult with programs and organizations serving children, youth and families on evidence based practices, studies and evaluations, data management and training and staff development. During the last year, we worked with over 200 programs to help them meet federal grant requirements for data and evaluations. Find out more about our consultations.

Training and Staff Development

We provide two types of training and staff development at SWS. First, we have several workshops that are already developed that we have found are helpful to customers.
